On Tuesday, 11th of February, 17 members of the IMPRODOVA Consortium met in Amsterdam to discuss the current status of IMPRODOVA research. The main focus was on discussing the most suitable approaches for closing existing knowledge gaps of the various frontline responders by development of an online learning platform as well as a risk assessment module that will be available for practitioners.
Amid protests by social sector organizations in Austria, a debate has resurfaced in national media concerning the precarious financial situation of the institutions involved in responding to domestic violence and abuse.
Considering all the literature and the scheme dedicated to fight against domestic violence (DV), it’s not particularly easy to be accepted by different national stakeholders with a new project. Nevertheless the approach of IMPRODOVA is a real opportunity to open some doors. We can indeed notice that the collaboration between police forces, i.e. practitioners, and the research world is real plus. The different meetings and the net we build weeks after weeks can illustrate this.
