Police of Scotland (PS)

Police Scotland was formally established on 1 April 2013 and is responsible for policing across the length and breadth of Scotland. Police Scotland is the second largest force in the UK. Police Scotland’s purpose is to improve the safety and wellbeing of people, places and communities in Scotland. The focus is on ‘Keeping People Safe’ under 5 key areas of activity (prevention, protection, communities, knowledge and innovation) as identified in Policing 2026, the national strategy for delivering policing over the next decade.
